The Filipino Association of University Women (FAUW) and the Knights of Rizal Hawaii chapters are co-hosting with UPAAH a lecture and conversation with award-winning writer Gina Apostol in a program "Istorya: Weaving Personal Stories into Fiction."

Ms. Apostol is this year's UH Manoa Dan and Maggie Inouye Chair in Democratic Ideals, the first novelist of Filipino ancestry to hold the post.

Ms. Apostol's lecture and conversation will take place on Friday, April 5, 5:30 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Makiki and will address the Philippines' revolutionary history, family history, the anti-colonial legacy of Rizal, fascist politics, pro-democracy activism, and much more.
